WHEN IN 2006 DANCING SHOES WAS INITIALLY FORMED IT WAS UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE THEATRE, WAS SELF-FUNDED PAYING NOMINAL RENT FOR THE USE OF 'THE WAREHOUSE' FOR CLASSES AND THE THEATRE FOR SHOWCASES. THROUGH THE HARD WORK AND COMMITMENT OF A SMALL TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS SUCCESS WAS EARNED VERY QUICKLY AND AFTER THREE YEARS AT THE THEATRE - THE NAME WAS AMENDED TO 'DANCING SHOES WREXHAM' AND THE GROUP BECAME INDEPENDENT IN ITS OWN RIGHT.
FOLLOWING THE MOVE TO INDEPENDENCE THE GROUP SETTLED AT THE YOUTH CLUB WHERE CLASSES AND REHEARSALS WERE HELD. WHILST THERE THE GROUP PERFORMED IN TWO CHRISTMAS SHOWCASES AND TWO YEARLY SHOWCASES AT OUTSIDE VENUES BEFORE THE INVITATION CAME FROM WREXHAM MUSICAL THEATRE SOCIETY.
